Morning till Evening in BLACK and WHITE ft. Vogue Prive
Not sure, how to style your black and white shirts, dresses or trousers? READ ON TO KNOW BETTER. When it comes to dressing up for any occasion or mood, it’s no surprise that colour ‘ BLACK’ tops the list for most of the women because of some very obvious reasons ( firstly the colour adds oodles of effortless glamour to the simplest of looks and secondly, yes it does help to hide that nagging flab to some bit and make those inches appear a little slimmer.) At the very close second spot comes the colour ‘WHITE’ that not just speaks of elegance, richness and class but also adds a bewitching charm to the one adorning it. Well who can escape that pristine almost saintly vibe to an all-white looks and yes no qualms accepting, I, myself is a big SUCKER for SIMPLE LOOKS! [hide]black and white[/hide]
So even in my wardrobe, though I have a mix bag of all hues and colours, I like to load it with lots of monochrome whites and blacks in varying textures and fits. And no, it does not make me sound like a ‘boring dresser’. In fact, it’s almost a no-brainer as in how many ways a plain white shirt can be styled or that Little Black dress (LBD) can be toned up or toned down. The task needs a lot of fun styling elements going into it, you know. So when I collaborated with this brand called ‘Vogue Prive’ (one of my early steps into this life of a blogger) that majorly retails chic dresses and one pieces for the urban women who are fond of contemporary dressing, I picked up a few pieces, all either COMPLETE WHITE or ABSOLUTE BLACK (black and white was the mood board for the looks that we decided upon). I just kept everything very simple and added a basic styling element here and there to create a few daywear looks.
For the first piece that I picked, which happened to be a well fitted, full sleeved white shirt, I couldn’t help but appreciate the flexibility of the fabric and how convenient it would be for a working woman to hurriedly pair it up with anything in her closet and still look perfectly well – coordinated and stylish. The fit of the monochrome shirt itself exudes a robust ‘I MEAN BUSINESS’ vibe and is apt for any woman who likes to command authority in her position. I styled this shirt with my formal black ‘ Marks and Spencer’ trouser and those black heels from ‘Charles & Keith’ and added a formal bag from ‘Nine West’. To make the whole look stand out and add you own statement touch, you can add a very basic piece of accessory to it. For me, it was either a polka dot black scarf (pls spare those extravagantly vibrant and bright colours for this one) or a simple choker. And I was good to go and take on the world !
2) The second look was all about ease and ‘no fuss’. When you just want to be yourself, go out for that Sunday brunch or maybe to grab a quick lunch bite with your besties, the most glam and yet effortless way to do that is to put on an asymmetric (mind you, all flowy here) white shirt dress, (with either heels or those sneakers or even mojris, whatever you like the best) and those shades to protect you from the harsh SUN ! And yes girly, you would just look as sweet and fresh as a daisy with this one.
3) For the final outfit from Vogue Prive, I picked up a Black Little Dress. So by now I was done with the Work formal look, the casual look for the lunch outing, and now was the time to dress up for the evening. I kept it very simple this time too. Just loved that this black monochrome dress had a collar up there, some buttoning and then a very asymmetrical (nothing body hugging at all) ending to it around my thighs. A comfortable length for any woman of any size to wear and yet feel stylish and aptly dressed for that late evening dinner date. As an accessory, I just wrapped up a black flower around my neck and wore those fishnets to add the glam touch. For the makeup, I kept it very soft and feminine with loads of pink blush and the most girly shade of pink as the lipcolour.
Hope you like all these three looks that I created with some basic styling and keeping the colour base as uncomplicated as a simple black and an even simpler white !!! You don’t have to think twice before carrying any of these looks from day till night!
