What do the 7 Days of VALENTINE WEEK stand for?
- ROSE DAY – 7th February
Red day of the Valentine, the day is marked for gifting roses to your loved ones. Get down on that one knew, strike the most romantic pose of all times with a rose in one hand and express your never-dying love to the love of your life. But hold your guns, do not go about proposing your love in the same very moment. We have the Propose day following up next. Keep the fun and excitement going along. Let your partner wait a little longer before you open up all your heart to them.
It is also a day to show love to your own self. Well, who is more closer to you than you. Buy a rose or two or an entire rose bouquet for yourself. Keep it in fresh water in your room so that it smells of love and roses for days to come.
2. PROPOSE DAY – 8th February
This is the day. No matter how many times you have said those three heart-warming words before, this is the day to formally announce them. Go out of your way to show your love to your partner. Propose them in the most romantic way possible. The gesture need not be enormously big to cast an impression. It can be a simple, subtle expression of love. But should surely be able to melt their hearts and touch them deep. Keep your emotions honest and heart-felt and only then would they translate to your partner in a way that only the couple in love can comprehend. For single people, this is also the day to pledge to themselves that they would put their health, well-being and happiness on priority. They would love themselves no matter what and how trying or difficult everything else might be, they would never cease to love themselves unconditionally.
3. CHOCOLATE DAY – 9th February
As self explanatory as it sounds, surprise your partner with a bouquet of her most loved assorted chocolates. Keep the whole gifting activity fun and full of surprises. You can put in a line of love or a promise with each piece of Ferrero Rocher. Make commitments and promises that you intend to keep for lifetime. Not just chocolates, you can surprise her (or him) with an exotic dessert. How about Churros (a deep-fried dough sticks from Spain), Lamingtons(square sponge cales from Australia), Malva Pudding (warm sponge pudding from South Africa), Baklava (a sweet pudding from the Middle East) or a Rum Cake (Carribean dessert). Take them to a sub-urban fine dining restaurant of their choice and celebrate with a love infused desert to make them feel all sugary and syrupy with love.
Single people can also treat themselves to a cup of their favourite gelato, or a whole icecream sundae. Celebrate the day.
4. TEDDY DAY – 10th February
Nothing about the seven days of Valentine week is clichéd or pejorative (childish). It is all about celebrating togetherness, companionship, with some gestures of love to make the most special person of your life, feel special. Get them a soft teddy to cuddle with. Who doesn’t like a huge teddy in their bedroom to hug and caress once in a while. If a soft toy or teddy is not your preference, you can also think of gifting them a pet, maybe a pooch or a kitten. Their presence will always remind you of your love for them. (Not that the pet would remind you of them! Just saying).
5. PROMISE DAY – 11th February
Well, this day holds a lot of significance and emotion. Make promises. Consciously make a mental note of the vows that you would make and then go about expressing them to your partner. Mean each of the word you say. This can be one of the most emotional and sentimental moments of the entire seven days of Valentine week. Remember no amount of materialistic gifts or gestures can bring as much of trust, faith and happiness as two words of genuine, thoughtful commitment. Be sure of your words. Do not make light of the day. Make promises that you intend to keep. Words can make or break a relationship. You can actually lose or win them for a lifetime on this day.
6. HUG DAY – 12th February
Not that you wouldn’t have ever hugged them before, but this day consciously embrace them with all your heart. Give them the tightest hug you ever can. A hug emotes a lot of things. In that one romantic moment, hold their hand, bring them closer and hug them close enough to show that you would always be there, no matter what. Embracing and loving someone also means that you accept them in totality, with all the goodness and the flaws together. Mark this day to reiterate this fact to yourself. You accept your partner for the absolute person that they are and commit to love them come what may.
7. KISS DAY – 13th February
Again, not that you would not have kissed them ever before. But this day, make a whole event out of it with the most passionate kiss ever. A kiss they cherish for days to come. Take them to a beautiful spot (surrounding environment makes a lot of difference to an intimate moment), bring them closer and plant the most passionate kiss expressing your love. Mark this kiss as a symbol of the sanctity of your love, the depths of your unwavering commitment to them. The rest of the part, we leave it onto you!
7. VALENTINE’S DAY – 14th February
And this is the final day. The cupid day, the day of culmination. Spend the entire day together. Do things that you both love. Plan an exotic dinner, watch a movie. Go out on long drives. Play some soulful music. Book a rejuveanting Couple’s Spa session together. Or just lay by each other’s side the entire day, ordering food and watching Netflix. But just be together. Make the other person feel secure and warm in your presence. 14th February, Valentine’s Day should be the day that you both reserve only to be by each other’s side and make efforts to make you better half feel valued, loved and pampered.
Creative Ideas to mark each of the seven days of Valentine week
Life is not the same always and you might not be in the moment of life to plan extravagant gestures on Valentine ’s Day. Yet, love can always be expressed. Even a gentle touch of hand, a little caressing on the cheek makes the other feel your emotion. For those who reason, that they do not need a single day in the year to mark their love, we do agree with you. You don’t need a day and a time to love your partner. Yet, it always feels good, when there is a special day to mark this bond and when one makes a planned, well-thought gesture to do something nice for their loved one.
Let your creative bulls run harder and think through well before putting any plan into execution. You can plan a seven day get-away trip with you loved one to celebrate the entire week in isolation. Road trips can also help bring both of you closer.
If married, you can plan your honeymoon again and escape to an exotic location to relive those memories of togetherness. If time doesn’t permit, you can just ensure one gesture each day of the seven days of Valentine week to mark it. Make 30 minutes in the morning each day with your loved one, just telling them how much they mean to them.
We hope we have loaded you with much inspiration to celebrate this week of love now. Use your creativity and get on to your toes. These efforts would work wonders in strengthening and consolidating your relationship and would also bring freshness and liveliness to your life.
