Three Classy Ways to Style Black Pants

I can’t deny, initially, I was quite skeptical about doing this feature on ‘How to style BLACK PANTS?’, because whom are we kidding here? It’s almost a no-brainer to style up a basic pair of black trousers with anything and everything that you can lay your hands on in your wardrobe. And you can still look comfortable and stylish.

However, why not style up a bit differently and stand out and get appreciated for one’s styling sense than being categorized as a mediocre dresser? And to begin with, I didn’t go in for regular black pants, but one with a yellow stripe on each side. Just giving the styling bit a little more twist with this one.

They say, “Being Soft and Strong at the same time is a quality that very few have mastered”. It is undeniably a tough job especially so in today’s times when being soft is unfortunately misinterpreted as being weak and incapable. And rather being loud and in your face and brash are considered to be attributes of strong individuality. However strong is the one who has the courage and the endurance to be weak, expose their vulnerabilities, take accountability for their actions and is polite enough to recognize, accept and work upon their flaws. That in the true sense is being strong.

I consider myself a strong girl, at least my composed demeanor reflects so and that is also the general opinion that most of the people that meet me for the first time have of me. Yes, I am strong and decisive in my choices, my opinions, and my overall frame of mind. Yet, like every other girl, I have a softer, vulnerable, and more delicate side to me that I keep guarded most of the time and let only a few ones in my innermost circle be witnesses to that aspect of me. And from what I have observed all through my growing up years, studying, and even while working is that irrespective of where they come from most of the women around are like that.

But no matter how naive and delicate my emotional setup be otherwise when it comes to fashion, I know my mind and my aesthetics are almost always inclined towards strong fashion statements. I don’t like non-impactful dressing which doesn’t have a personality or soul of its own. I like attires and accessories that look powerful and stand out and make a very distinctive statement of their own. Even if the piece of clothing is something regular, I believe the way you carry it should be one of aplomb and extreme confidence as if the piece of attire was specially made for you and you are the only one who owns THE RIGHT TO OWN IT !!!

Rather than opting for plain black trouser (which is oh so regular!), I liked these Yellow Striped Black Pants from ‘The Vanca Store’ and styled them in three different ways. For the first look, I just paired it with a simple yellow-black top and see how wonderfully the stripes on both the blouse and the trousers complement each other. One has vertical stripes and the other horizontal. At times, you just have to let your imaginations run wild! This blouse is a very old purchase from Zara which I had not worn in a long time.

For the second one, I tried creating a more formal workplace look. Who says you can’t wear yellow trousers to the office and still NOT GET red flagged by the ‘HR Department.’ for inappropriate clothing! I paired these pants with my favorite corset top from ‘BEBE’ and then put on a Black waistcoat from ‘GUESS’ over it. It is almost imperative to have a few such strong powerful pieces of clothing in your wardrobe to uplift any look almost instantly. I don’t even have a count of how many endless times I have styled this corset and this coat in my looks and they have looked super sexy each time. And yes you can also carry some bit of a glam appeal to your workplace. No one detests that. A minimalist gold choker in the neck was enough to get those envious second looks from my colleagues! Those sweethearts wanted to own it too :). Just ensure that every time you carry such a powerful look, just try not to accessorize it at all, just a watch or maybe a cuff and a good handbag. That’s enough. And even the makeup should be kept bare minimum. Refrain from carrying a loud red lipstick mouth with such a look. Pale pink lip color or a nude brown shall actually elevate the glam quotient of the look notches higher.

And the final look was all about some jazz and bling. A silver sequined shrug from designers Rohit Khanna and Rahul Gandhi, put on over a white shirt and I was all set for the evening. Whenever carrying a blingy piece, just always remember to uplift it with a white pairing, it actually brings out the shine and glamour of the piece. The makeup again was kept very pale and neutral. Soft and pale pinks really look very ethereal with such looks, rather than a strong lip color/

I loved all three looks with these yellow pants almost equally but what I loved, even more, is that they made me look ‘STRONG AND YET SOFT’ both at the same time.

Hope you loved the “Lady in Yellow Pants” look and go ahead and buy one for yourself too.

Till then keep experimenting and stay stylish….you gorgeousness!

Love,
